Patrick is a registered patent attorney who has successfully prosecuted hundreds of United States patents through issuance.  US patent prosecution services encompass drafting and filing provisional, utility, and design applications, amendments and replies to patent office action letters, and pursuing appeals before the U.S. Board of Patent Appeals and Interference's.  World-wide foreign patent practice services are also offered via a well-established network of foreign associates.

Patrick also advises clients on monetizing and protecting returns on investments in Intellectual Property assets through drafting licensing, assignment, consulting, trade secret, confidentiality and other business agreements; preparing validity and infringement and freedom to use opinions; and preparing and prosecuting applications for trademarks and copyrights.

He also served as a firefighter, the third generation in police and fire service to the City of Cleveland, retiring in 2008 as Captain in command of Fire Station No. 4 in the Ohio City neighborhood. Duties also included interpretation and enforcement within civil and administrative law proceedingsof life safety, building, hazardous materials and fire codes and referenced standards for the Fire Prevention Bureau .
